The coast between Tamelalt and Legzira is made for walking: cliff paths link sandy coves, long beaches stretch out at low tide, and you'll often have the view to yourself. Here are our favourite walks, from an hour's stroll to a full day along the cliffs.
Tamelalt Beach
From our Tamelalt and Club Evasion villas, walk straight onto the sand. At low tide the beach stretches for kilometres, with rocky points and pools to explore. It's the perfect sunset walk.
Mirleft's cliff path
From Mirleft, paths follow the clifftops between the coves: down to Imin Turga, on to Aftas and further south towards Marabout beach. Allow an hour or two for an out-and-back, with plenty of places to stop for a swim or a mint tea.
Paths are informal and sometimes close to the edge: keep a safe distance, especially in wind.
Towards Legzira
Experienced walkers can follow the coast south from Mirleft towards Legzira's red cliffs. It's a long day: allow several hours, carry plenty of water, plan the beach sections around low tide and arrange a lift or a taxi back.
If you'd rather keep it short, drive to Legzira and walk the beach and cliffs around the arch.
Good to know
Spring and autumn are the best seasons, with mild temperatures and clear air. In summer, start early or walk in the evening. Tell someone your route on longer walks, as mobile coverage can be patchy below the cliffs.
